I went from 1200 resolution to over 2000, slightly higher than regular HD. I installed it myself with the CD drivers installation disc and about half way thru the installation, my PC would re-boot by itself with not completing the installation. I bought this video card because I have a 5yr old home built PC(it still works great) that would not support my new 2048 X 1152 resolution monitor. The card comes with a DVI-I to VGA adapter so if you have a older PC like I have, your covered. I tried it 3 times and it would not install, so I had to go to EVGA tech support and they served me the driver installation over the web and i got the video card installed, and their tech support also helped me re-configure my PC settings from VGA to PCI, and disable the old video system. Other than that problem, the video card works excellent. I dont know if i just got a video card with a bad installation CD or what. But i wont give it a bad rating for a minor problem like that.
Simple to install, works great. I had a really crappy graphics card. I couldn't use Second Life, but now I can.no problems.
A very decent card for the price and works well with my older computer that has an integrated Extreme Graphics 2 card built in.
Like many of the other reviewers, I put it in a Dell Dimension 2400, and had to disable the internal graphics before it would work. Otherwise the install was easy. It was a vast improvement for this computer, but still doesn't quite cut it for hd tv or my r/c plane flight simulator. It works about as good at you could expect considering the limitation of being PCI, and the vintage of computer it is installed in.
Quick and easy way to speed up a Dell Dimension 3000. Well worth the price.
